About Add Watermark
Watermarks serve two purposes: establishing ownership and communicating status. A company name or logo watermark tells the reader where the document comes from and discourages casual copying. A DRAFT, CONFIDENTIAL, or SAMPLE text watermark tells them how to treat what they're reading.
Text watermarks work for labels and branding. Image watermarks are better for logos and graphic marks. Both can sit in a fixed position on each page or tile across the full surface. Tiled watermarks are harder to obscure if the document is screenshotted.
Opacity is the most important setting. Too high and the watermark overpowers the content. Too low and it disappears in print. Aim for visible but not dominant — the reader notices it without it interfering with reading.
