Remove private text before publishing, sharing, or sending documents externally.

Redact Sensitive Information in a PDF

Drawing a black box with an annotation tool hides text visually but leaves the original content in the file. Copy the area and paste elsewhere — the sensitive text reappears. That's not redaction.

Redact PDF permanently destroys marked content. Upload, select areas or text to redact, apply, download. Names, account numbers, addresses, and internal notes can be removed for external sharing.

Test the result before sending. Search for a redacted word with Ctrl+F. Try selecting near the black bar. If the word appears, the redaction did not apply correctly.

Keep an unredacted original offline. Share only the redacted copy. Add Protect PDF if the redacted file still needs access control.
